It will depend somewhat on the feedback received
from making the switch in the HEAD stream.
I have been developing/working with Ant 1.5.1 for
the last 2 weeks and have not yet noticed any
problems.
So the short answer is I don't know for sure but I
would hope that Ant 1.5.1 would surface in either
the first or second integration build moving
towards M3...as early as the Oct 22 integration build or
the Oct 29th build).
As for the full implementation of 1.5.1
functionality in our entry point, that will depend on the
help from the community, what other issues crop up independent of 1.5.1 functionality (no
point
in adding new functionality if the old stuff
doesn't work), etc, etc.
I have been working hard on an eclipse ant test
suite so that we don't introduce any regressions
(org.eclipse.ant.tests.core).
I really would not like this to slip past M3
(Nov 15th I believe).
If there is a key part of the functionality you
wish implemented, I would be glad to
review a submission ;-)
Thanks for showing interest,
Darins

platform-ant-dev@xxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [platform-ant-dev] Moving Eclipse Ant
to Ant 1.5.1 Shortly (read early next week), the org.apache.ant that
is provided with Eclipse will be moved to version 1.5.1. Please see http://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=24318My
plan is to release the 1.5.1 version to HEAD and test/get feedback on
any problems. Anyone interested can look at the changes off of the
jakarta-ant pages. The version of org.apache.ant incorporated into the
Eclipse build will then be changed when deemed "safe". Then over time
(as fast as we can), we will expose the new functionality found in
1.5.1 (-diagnostics, -propertyfile, -inputhandler...) through our entry point
of InternalAntRunner Please comment if the plan is reasonable
etc. Thanks Darins _______________________________________________ platform-ant-dev
