Ian mentioned already not much has been done, since not a lot of demand for this client, on the existing Java ME client (still needs Java ME 3.2 for building and is not available anymore for download on the Oracle-Java site). So in fact the client needs to be “upgraded” to Java ME 3.4 and Java ME 8.x.  Recently Oracle announced availability of Java ME 8.1 for use with the Freescale FRDM-K64F board.
