Re: [orbit-dev] Vote for Committer status for Ajay Subramanya - to be cancelled.

Looks like you are correct, David Green ... I misread the note from Ajay, where he clearly said "Yes I want to become a committer for Orbit and currently I am a contributor for Ogee."
Thanks for your care.

Ajay, and others on Ogee project, only *committers* on other Eclipse projects can become committers on Orbit.  (This is because we have pretty loose requirements for committership in Orbit ... such as no "history of Orbit contributions" is required).

So, I fear I will need to cancel the ongoing vote.

Apologies for the mis-understanding.

But, thanks for your interest Ajay, and if the situation ever changes, we'd be glad to reconsider.

If the Ogee project needs the bungle, and another existing Ogee committer wants to volunteer, feel free to state your interest and commitment.

Thank you,

David,

Looking at the Ogee project Ajay is not listed as a committer: https://projects.eclipse.org/projects/technology.ogee/who
Looking at the Ogee Git repository, there is only a single (trivial) commit with Ajay listed as an author: https://git.eclipse.org/c/ogee/org.eclipse.ogee.git/commit/?id=a92dd7dd573931353233c432b5eee5d8e90d0f5d

I'm all for people joining as Orbit committers, and it's great to see Ajay stepping up.  I hope that I'm missing something - but given your message below which states that Ajay is a committer, it would like to see some clarification on Ajay's involvement with Eclipse.org.

tools.orbit Committers,
This automatically generated message signals that David Williams has
nominated Ajay Subramanya R as a Committer on the tools.orbit project. The
reason given is as follows:

I'd like to nominate Ajay as a committer for Orbit. He has volunteered to
contribute and maintain the Olingo bundle and is a committer on the Ogee
project.

Thanks Ajay.

The vote is being held via the MyFoundation portal: voters *must* use the
portal for the votes to be properly recorded.  The voting will continue
until either all 54 existing Committers have voted or until they have been
given enough time to vote, even if they do not do so (defined as at least
one week). Ajay Subramanya R must receive at least three +1s and no -1s for
a successful election.

Eligible Committers must cast their votes through their My Foundation
portal page (do NOT just reply to this email; your vote will not be
correctly recorded unless you use the portal):
