Terrific! Open Robotics's ROS and Gazebo simulation is taught at every university, ~200M downloads last year. ROS is in most mobile robots including those dealing with COVID19. ROS contributors include Bosch, LG, Amazon, Toyota Research, Samsung, iRobot, Apex.AI, Tier IV, ADLINK, Intel, Canonical, Microsoft, and many more.

ROS is used in much (most?🤔) autonomous driving efforts including Autoware.org who’s Autoware.auto uses OpenADx Cyclone DDS.

Apex.AI provides automotive grade, functionally safe ROS. Apex.ai is backed by Toyota Research, JLR, Airbus, Volvo, Hella. https://www.therobotreport.com/apex-os-1-0-available-brings-ros-2-development-self-driving-cars/ 

OpenADx’s Cyclone DDS and iceoryx projects are in ROS 2 next gen. Cyclone DDS is tier-1 ROS middleware and candidate for default. iceoryx is being built into Cyclone DDS.

btw, random news is that OpenADx Cyclone DDS now supports Android IVI systems (including Polestar 2) to talk with DDS-based ADAS/AD systems including ROS 2 & AUTOSAR Adaptive https://twitter.com/JoeSpeeds/status/1258188347177988096
