Well, yes, but you could also just make sure that if the
connection is dead, you get notified. Make sure you don't have
something like "force link" on the interface or anything.
Particularly if you have higher level knowledge that a connection
is gone, make sure you're not lying about it to TCP or anything.
If the network stack learns that the link is gone, you get a
socket death, and you don't need to wait for keepalives to
timeout. Let your system do notifications properly. Leave
keepalives for the unexpected. Look into what "switchign on the
wifi" is really doing. Make sure whatever routes it updates are
correct, and don't leave things indeterminate.
