I am downloading the source files from url : http://mosquitto.org/files/source/ for mosquitto-1.4.tar.gz.

And trying to compile it myself.

Does this is the correct approach to start.

I don't know of anywhere that provides armv7 rpm build for mosquitto, you'd have to look into compiling it for yourself. Please feel free to ask if you don't know where to start.
