Yeah, most of the developers on the project have moved companies or have been pulled onto different projects.  I think SmallRye GraphQL (RedHat's implementation) is still active, but MP work has pretty much stopped.  

If you are interested in reviving it (or know of someone who is), I could give an overview of the project and help get it back off the ground.  Unfortunately, I won't have much time to contribute to it.

While updating my talk about virtual threads and their support in different runtimes, I started playing with JDK 21 and an app that uses Quarkus with MicroProfile GraphQL (and this SmallRye GraphQL) and realized that it didn't run with JDK 21. So while poking around different repos (the spec and some implementations), it became clear that development of this spec seems to have dropped off.... what's the current status? I think it's quite well done, so I'd love to see it continued.
