Re: [microprofile-wg] [External] : 2022 MicroProfile Program Plan feedback

We have three sections to *.microprofile.io, each are different infrastructure.

 - Main site: First we have the main microprofile.io website which is a WordPress install hosted by wpegine.com and cached via cloudflare.com.  The following pages are examples of that install:

 - Projects: Then we have pages for the individual Specifications themselves.  This is some fancy Groovy code running as an app in AWS.  It hits the Github API to get the list of projects dynamically on demand.  It frequently does not work and is in our program plan to replace it with some form of Github pages (first bullet on the Infrastructure/Website slide).  Here is the source and some example pages from that:

 - Start: This is a second app that runs start.microprofile.io.  I do not know where it runs and do not think the microprofile-infra@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx set of admins have access.

Yeah, that is already in the plan. Some of the 2020 “infrastructure” budget line item will go to reimburse Tomitribe for hosting costs. I will rely on the advice of Ryan (Tomitribe) for much of my opinion. I’m not sure if GitHub Pages gives enough design flexibility.

Grr. mis-matched e-mail addresses. I'm trying to bring these threads together and not doing a good job of it. 2nd attempt.

A general comment:
There are several web-site recommendations in our plan. These all look great to me. One of them indicates a conversion to GitHub pages. It's my understanding that some or all of the MicroProfile website is hosted and funded through the generosity of Tomitribe (and please correct me if that's wrong). I totally appreciate their support in this regard and thank them profusely for their generosity and support of this working group.

Should we formally consider including a goal for moving MicroProfile to a cost-neutral hosting location? GitHub pages seem eminently capable to me but I'm not a web-site developer. I'm just wondering if we should try to help distribute this cost more equitably and include a specific goal to move the hosting location -- if we can find a suitable alternative.
