Thanks for getting this in place, Denis. Kim and Pascal added a few notes,
and I made some changes to capture differences from previous years and to
request clean-ups be done earlier. To summarize:
1. requests cleanup of old releases, milestones, etc. be done one week
before release. Gives time for questions to be asked if anyone seems to be
hogging it up.
2. There are no "sign-off" pages this release, so communicate delays,
URLs, etc., via this cross-project list.
3. Our Galileo discovery site is actually a composite repository. And,
rather than "rebuild" the discovery site to pickup the final location of
the Eclipse platform update site, I'm hoping or assuming there's a simple
URL we can update in the compositeArtifacts.jar/xml file?
There may be a few tweaks here and there in the document, but I think it's
fairly accurate now, and others are certainly welcome to comment or ask
questions ...
and above all, read it! Make sure you understand your responsibilities
well ahead of time. Especially all you
new-this-year projects. If any of you have questions, or issue, please
ask. We'll be glad to help.
Thanks,

[cross-project-issues-dev] Pre-release nervousness

Greetings,
As we approach The Big Day, I took the liberty of preparing the Galileo
Final Daze document. David, does it make any sense? If you could review
it and update it as required, my stress level would certainly decrease.
http://wiki.eclipse.org/Galileo/Final_DazeInfrastructure-wise, the three biggest differences since last year are:
- You must have the ability to put files on the downloads server without
linking to them automatically, since we don't have the ability to freeze
the downloads area.
- We won't have additional bandwidth, so it's very important that mirrors
be up-to-date by launch time
- Galileo will be available immediately to Friends and Bit Torrent clients
Thanks,
