Re: [m2m-atl-dev] [ATL]: ATL Input file format

Hi Aamir,

These mailing lists are used for development discussions. Questions and discussions about the usage of ATL should take place on the eclipse.modeling.m2m Eclipse newsgroup (news://news.eclipse.org/eclipse.modeling.m2m) for the M2M project (more details about this newsgroup there: http://www.eclipse.org/newsgroups/), of which ATL is a component. Please, remember to prefix the subject of your ATL-related posts with [ATL].

You can already use UML models (in ATL transformations) created with "UML tools" based on Eclipse UML2 (like Papyrus). We already made several examples with Papyrus. Please take a look to the following links: http://www.eclipse.org/m2m/atl/usecases/UML2MOF/ and http://wiki.eclipse.org/ATL_Howtos#How_can_I_transform_UML_models.3F

HTH.

Best regards,

hello all,

I am new to ATL m2m transformation. I wanted to know that is it the xmi
format only option for the model file input to the ATL software. Usually
models are complex enough to be hand written in xmi format. Is there any
way to convert the UML diagrams (like in papyrus) to the ATL compatible
xmi. I have tried the papyrus generated xmi file for the ATL but it
doesn't work.

in short how can i get any link between the uml tool generated xmi and
the ATL compatible xmi.

thankx in advance,

-aamir-
