for me: because easier and brew/cask actually does use official oracle downloads.

Yes, and I dont trust stuff from Oracle not to come baked with bloat ware these days, but I do trust that the brewed formula has chosen the best options for installation.

Plus I'm still new to how the Mac needs to have things installed and I've been happy with everything else I've homebrewed.
