I think you are right, I'm doing the same thing with Eclipse plugins
that need dependencies that are not OSGi bundles, and I've learned
the technique from m2e-core :)
Thing is that maven-dependency-plugin is not supported by m2e out of
the box. It is on my radar for the further work on m2e connectors,
after I publish the first batch.
