Would it make sense to use the simultaneous release to advertise the
JTS move over and the coming work to be done with the Java
migrations?

Sounds
good, I know we choose November last year due to eclipse schedule.
Note I expect to switch gears between September and January to try
and migrate from Java 8 before oracle pulls the plug.
I think a joint release of GeoMesa, GeoTrellis,
and GeoWave (and any other project that uses JTS) would be
great for an all-at-once upgrade to a new version of JTS -
we are still on the non-'org.locationtech.jts' version
because of conflicts with upstream dependencies.
Geo(Tools/Server) are upgraded to the new JTS (thanks Jody,
Jim and Martin!) and slated for release in September, should
we aim for a release after that where those LT projects
can make the switch all at once?
We were talking about timing a JTS
release near foss4g, would that be appropriate for our
different projects?
Happy to do minir release in November as
bug fixes and improvements are occurring occur if
constantly.
Hi all,
Is this release still in the planning for this year?
After last year’s release it would be a real
positive sign to the community.
If so, Any I idea which projects will be involved?
We need to know in order to plan capacity for the
promotion around it for Q4.
Kind regards,
Marc Vloemans
