Thanks for taking the time to share
your thoughts Tim.
I also checked out Cesium when I first met Matt. The combination
of perspectives Cesium offers is pretty impressive. Building on
what Tim noticed, it is very clear they put a lot of thought into
their architecture and design to make it powerful and easy to
re-use... very nice to see.
I encourage each of us to make good use of this list by using it
for communication & helping to build the community. There a
number of influential and innovative companies, projects, and
individuals represented here already.
All the best,
Andrew

Message sent from mobile device on vacation caveats aside, I'll
add in my praise for Cesium.
Of all the browser-based, open source, 3D globe clients, Cesium
shows the most promise.
While I can't speak for the potential to grow a boarder
developer community, AGI clearly have the engineering talent to
develop a highly functional globe client. If they can engage
others in Cesium development, they'll have a sustainable
project.
Personally, I'm excited about the potential for an OpenLayers
adapter for Cesium (or, in the future, a Cesium renderer for
OpenLayers). On its own, Cesium has a ton of value. Paired
with OL, Cesium deals in all standard/common protocols and
formats and provides a virtual globe.
I look forward to hearing how the presentation goes.
Tim
