Re: [leshan-dev] Fwd: [iot-pmc] Google Summer of Code and Eclipse IoT

We want to implement JSON format in leshan. We want it to start since last month, but always we have another priority tasks come.

May be we can take ownership of this task?

Thanks,

Nizar…!

I added an entry for CoAP over TCP/TLS (more a Cf feature, but to be consumed by leshan).

For SMS it's also a californium feature I think.

I think support for IPSO Object is an idea, but I think it's too simple (add the object models in the leshan model files and voila?)

For LwM2M over MQTT, this could lead by Kura guys who are already looking at it?

Maybe we can also propose something around JSON format?

A bunch of random ideas:

  • Better IPSO Smart Objects integration: facilitate the construction of IPSO Smart Objects when using the Java client API, have dedicated web UI components for the different object types, etc.
  • LwM2M over MQTT support, as a next step to the work already done as part of the Open IoT Challenge [1]
  • SMS support

I am happy to add them to the wiki but I'm not confident mentoring a student, at least not alone :-)

Thanks!

Hi,

It would be great to see IoT projects participate to this year's Google Summer of Code.

We had several success stories last year, with MQTTLens or the porting of Kura on Concierge.

I invite all the project leaders (actually, anyone with a cool idea or interested in mentoring a project) to add their idea on the dedicated wiki page [1], with enough details for the students to come up with a more detailed proposal.

Please also make sure to sign up on the soc-dev mailing list to discuss with interested students: https://dev.eclipse.org/mailman/listinfo/soc-dev

The deadline for student to apply for a project is March 27th so don't wait!

Thanks!
