Unfortunately not with the winhttprequest com object.  It turns out that 
the problem was that this winhttprequest5.1 com object (very old) was 
doing the wrong thing...and older versions jetty tolerated it...while 
this new version of jetty   did not.   Use a more modern com object and 
the problem goes away.
