It would be perfect if this view could be docked... like the Package Explorer you see... but I don't think this is feasible no ?

I think the default mapping is <ctrl-shift-e> (which, of course, doesn't work under GTK)... Just remap the key binding... In preferences (key binding) Window->Switch to Editor
