Steve,One of the other
committers just contacted me and pointed out that I'm misremembering things
here, and that you are right there wasn't a previous vote and I'm misremembering
things as clicking on the thumb up in the issue rather than voting. I
was confused and my previous email is completely wrong. Everyone
should disregard it and continue on with the vote that you just started. From:

Sheesh
thanks for the rant.
I
don't remember a vote, in fact my vote email was the second message on
the dev list. If you are referring to thumbs up on the issue I linked to
I commented that I would put it to a vote. If I have missed a vote somewhere
else then I apologise.
tbh
I really can't be bothered with this. Please make the PRs to do the updates
when you have all decided the name.

Subject: Re: [jca-dev] Name Vote If I recall correctly,
there was already a vote on Jakarta Connector Architecture vs Jakarta Connectors.
I haven't seen the results of it, but asking for a new vote because
a JCA acronym is undesirable makes me suspect that the Jakarta Connector
Architecture name may have won the vote. I don't see this as a reason
for a new vote. As someone who voted for Jakarta Connector Architecture
previously, I was voting for the name, not voting for the use of an acronym.
The JCA acronym did not appear anywhere in the vote, and is not relevant
to the results. There is nothing about having that name that forces
our spec to make use of JCA as an acronym. I wouldn't expect a specification
to want to make use of an acronym either. On the contrary, I voted
for that name because it makes it clear and obvious that the new spec is
the evolution of the Java EE Connector Architecture, due to the similarity
in their names, and because it's a good name that represents exactly what
the spec is for.
So, for the new vote,
-1
and I'll suggest "Jakarta Connector Architecture" (no acronym)

[jca-dev] Name Vote
Sent by: jca-dev-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxx
Hi
All,
We
need to change the name of the project see https://github.com/eclipse-ee4j/jca-api/issues/37
">
We
also cannot use the JCA acronym therefore the proposed name is;
"Jakarta
Connectors"
As
project lead I am putting this name to a committer vote. If you could vote
+1 if agree, 0 if abstain and -1 if you disagree.
If
you -1 the name please suggest an alternative.
Thanks
Steve
