Re: [jaxrs-dev] [External] : Re: Release Updates

For the release we need at least one actual implementation. What are the time frames of the most popular ones, like Jersey, RESTeasy, CXF? Anything in a beta state we can use to drive first tests?

For Jersey 3.1 I have seen there now is a branch 3.1 but it is not containing my original work from JAXRS2_2. @Jan can you share some roadmap?

We can release earlier, of course. Dates are just tentative. The discussion was only about aligning 3.1 with EE 10 as you saw in [1].

You’re also welcome to join Slack if you want, which is also public.

I do not understand why such an essential information as the release date is not discussed in this public form before publishing it on the eclipse page? This is something all committers should discuss, and it is not so urgent that the discussion must happen intra-day using Slack.

Actually I do not see why we cannot release a bit earlier. It would be good to have a nearly feature-complete beta within August to be able to get feedback before the actual release process is triggered (and BTW I will do two talks at JFS and EclipseCon in September where our adience expects us to show something "nearly finished"). The final release can officially be on October 31, but I think a stable RC should be published September 30 already.

What are the arguments against that?

Hi All,

Based on the discussions in [1] as well as our Slack channel, I’ve updated the release records to reflect our new plan.
