Hello Spec Project Leads,

 

This email is a request to give some thought to a potential future specification that extracts the concept of "conversion" into its own specification. The motivation for this extraction is the usual separation of concerns value proposition.

 

My knowledge of this domain is limited to what we did in Faces. As a high-level description of the domain, you can look at the jakarta.faces.convert package. https://jakarta.ee/specifications/platform/10/apidocs/jakarta/faces/convert/package-summary.html 

 

Once you have given this item some thought with respect to your component specification, I want to harvest your thoughts.  I am not looking to start a discussion on this list about this topic.  If you want to start such a discussion in your component spec list, you are certainly welcome to do that.
