Re: [jakartaee-spec-project-leads] Review committee lists

Hi Emily,

Is there a recommended approach for this? Is it it enough to send an email to the developer mailing list of a project asking if any of the project committers would like to relinquish their committer position on the project and use that resulting list to remove committers?

On the other hand we could send a mail to the respective developer mailing lists asking committers if they want to stay as such. But in that case how long should we wait for responses before removing committers who have not confirmed they would like to stay?

Thank you for any guidance you can provide,
Tom

Dear Jakarta EE project leads,
We discussed the committer lists on various projects at last week's and today's call.  Some committers and leads have moved on or worked on other things. In order to give a clear view how many committers are still involved on a particular project, it might be a good idea to assess your committer list to see whether you can tidy up the committer list by moving some of them to the historic committer etc. It will be very much appreciated if you can reach out to your committers to find out whether they still want to be listed as current committers or historic committers!

After the consolidation, it might be clearer to see whether a particular project needs more committers or contributors.
