Re: [jakartaee-spec-project-leads] [jakartaee-platform-dev] Add Concurrency 3.0 to Web Profile?
|
Hi,Based on this
discussion on the mailing list and the one that just concluded on our Platform
Call (https://docs.google.com/document/d/1EJ2ilaPhMnQqa3aw6AmwjRbBPGL3_np4uuwklgfqPZI/edit#),
we will move forward with moving Concurrency to the Web Profile in Jakarta
EE 10. I will update the proposed Release Plan (https://docs.google.com/document/d/1U24VmTzAfXcn3WBnVcolb8vhZO-Pnk_bit0CKh_d2jM/edit)
accordingly. Thanks!

Hi,I'm very much in favour of having Concurrency
in the web-profile. This definitely belongs in the same foundational
group as CDI, Validation and Security. I hope that one day we might be
able to remove Enterprise Beans Lite from the web profile. Today is
of course not that day, but bringing in Concurrency is the first step.Kind regards,ArjanOn Thu, Jul 29, 2021 at 2:41 PM Reza

I am very much in agreement. I see Jakarta Concurrency as a critical piece
to superseding EJB Lite and properly enabling important concurrency facilities
like CompletableFuture in a CDI aligned way. At least the case for inclusion
into the Web Profile seems fairly sound.

Add Concurrency 3.0 to Web Profile?
