  • As mentioned in today's platform project call, I crave the ability to delegate issues that arise regarding important matters that must be addressed, but which do not contribute directly to delivering Jakarta EE 11.
  • I judge this ability is important enough to create a new role, like "release coordinator" that Arjan and I share.
  • While the "release coordinator" role is forward looking, this new role, which we can call "maintenance release coordinator" for discussion, is entirely concerned with doing stuff with already existing releases.

In this thread, I seek the community's input on questions including, but not limited to:

  • Do we need this role?
  • How rigorously do we need to define it?
    • If rigorously, what sort of things are in the role?
  • How can we get someone to volunteer for this role?
  • Is there someone who is already doing this for us?
