Absolutely, Bill.
 I had done this type of update for the Specification, but not for
the APIs.  Please feel free to do the appropriate PR and I'll review/merge.
 

I also just noticed
this Issue you created:  https://github.com/eclipse-ee4j/jakartaee-api/issues/42for merging the 8.0.0-BRANCH into Master...  TBH, I didn't even know
we used a branch for the Jakarta EE 8 APIs.  It looks like all of
the commits were done to Master...  I just compared the two branches
and they look identical except for the errant update to the pom.xml in
the 8.0.0-Branch.  So, I'll just close out this issue.

project to version "9.0.0-SNAPSHOT"
and allow API updates for the javax -> jakarta namespace transition?
