EF Team, hired under the Jakarta EE budget and EF EMO supporting the Jakarta EE project,
Request: can you allow comment capabilities so that questions can be asked directly in the document?
Informing the Working Group on stuff doesn't work. If this document was approved and reviewed by both the Marketing and Steering committee, it never made it to the call minutes nor agenda. Who approved the website ownership document?
Jakarta EE is an open-source working group accountable for everything Jakarta EE.
I believe the website is the responsibility also of the community it serves. Contributors can and should be welcomed to help bring new features via PRs, issues, discussions... yet contributors are not even listed as important and core to the process. I have serious issues with such a mentality.
After the open conversation is made possible with the focus on the document, hopefully, via this thread and many other discussions, the document needs to be added to the Jakarta EE repo via git pages to welcome PRs, scaling the process by making it a part of the project important documentation that is public lowers the bar to contribute. It works in favor of increasing the website contributions way beyond those who are currently listed as owners.
Thank you for owning via action your involvement to not be "the manager" but actually the Facilitator that makes this community's wishes come true by open collaboration.
The accountability of each of us involved should show that Jakarta EE is a moving target towards open-source processes that invite everyone to influence its future.
