Re: [jakarta.ee-wg] Help ship Jakarta EE 8: Getting JakartaSpecification PRs across the finish line

Hi,

Besides what you mention, I also see two things made different on each spec:
- Status: some say "Final", others "Final Release"
- File names. I've seen:
    <spec-name>/<version>/<spec-name>-<version>.html
                                       /<spec-name>-spec-<version>.html
                                       /<maven-coordinates>-<version>.html

For consistency, we should aim to use at least the same paths. Which are the correct patterns?

Reviews will be easier once there's at least one PR merged so that we can compare others to it.

Hi,

I'm also catching up with the thread. So far this what I did.

1) I joined the jakartaee-spec-project-leads mailing list.
3) Pulled randomly a PR without comments yet.
4) Reviewed the content and provided feedback on the PR: https://github.com/jakartaee/specifications/pull/50#discussion_r309744798

Can someone please provide a link to the complete HTML content that PR's needs to have and general rules we need to check against to?
So far my understanding is that we need to check:
  • Spec status shouldn't be Draft,  should be Final or Final Release.
  • The version number shouldn't be SNAPSHOT
  • "Java EE" references in the api docs should be "Jakarta EE"

Hi there,

I can +1 what Edwin said, I'm happy to help and to dedicate time on this, however, a quick pointer on a starting point would help a lot.

Cheers,

Hi David,

Just to let you know that your call for help isn't landing on deaf ears, I will try to get involved and see what I can do to contribute. However, in all honesty, for me as an individual that has not contributed yet, it is a lot of information to process in order to get a grasp of the actual status of each specification project, and what needs to be done. I have seen the email with pointers that mentioned, so I will take that as a starting point and see what I can do from there.

Kind regards,

Edwin

I think this one’s easier to reach the right people for this „Job“ since the wider community list probably has many who have not even signed the ECA.

See, Everyone.  That's how much we need you.

We need more eyes on the details because no one is perfect.
