closing my feedback on this thread for today with a quote I see belongs to this conversation.
Shared via a
tweet and quoted in blue below, the message needs to be the blog and muscles oxygenated by anyone who has been hired
since 2019 under the Jakarta Marketing space.
To implement vision & dreams comes from this ecosystem's feedback and not the other way around.
Jakarta EE needs to sustain, maintain and attract contributors from the Java EE ecosystem. Our objectives are not solely clear yet when we zoom out we know that we need more individuals and more companies and ORGs to join this project.
If you do creative work, try to avoid situations where people with less ability than you can tell you what to do, or edit your work.- Paul Graham
There are 4 full time & 1/2 hired individuals under the Jakarta EE Marketing whose sole job is to make this community's vision and dreams for Jakarta EE become true. They serve this ecosystem under the Jakarta EE yearly budget.
They facilitate improvements via actions that welcome this ecosystem's proactive feedback. Jakartee is not playing a finite game, it is playing to survive and thrive alongside everyone who chooses to become involved and enter into the arena and earn the right to provide feedback and be deserving of acknowledging that there is value in such a feedback.
Talk without effort is cheap, there is plenty of "cheap collaborating" in OSS.
It is this ecosystem's responsibility to police & provide proactive feedback to the
WG Members [May 2020 = 15 Members/Communities] , those companies listed under the Jakarta EE website, currently paying, to push Java EE forward via Jakarta EE.
Make no mistake, the past 2 years + have not been easy. Yet, nothing that is worth protecting & maintaining is ever easy.
JOIN this effort. If you are already here in this forum and able, start by introducing yourself (new thread 💜) to this community, next move to submit PRs and issues via the Jakarta repo. It is a choice, yours to make.
With 12million + Java developers having only 165 Committers in this project shows that we have work to do to enable you to contribute and become the 166 and more committer in the future.
