Re: [iot-wg] [iot-pmc] Eclipse IoT Market

I don't think that adding Docker support to this marketplace is the right move. I think we are probably better off hosting those images on dockerhub or bintray.
Here is a bug that discusses the issue https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=500937

Do we plan to distribute Kapua docker images via marketplace as well? I'd love to see sn ability to browse catalog of backend Kapua services on-line and installing those on runtime into Kapua.

Cheers!

All,

We are starting to  collect requirements to implement an Eclipse IoT Market. The first step will be to extend the existing Eclipse Marketplace to accept listings that target Eclipse IoT projects.

The first project will be Eclipse Kura. The intention is to make it easier for a third party ecosystem to emerge around the new Kura Wires feature and the ability to load third party drivers into Kura. I also hope we can support some of the new features in Eclipse Smarthome.

Longer term, I think the ability to have a marketplace for IoT apps and extensions will be important for many of our Eclipse IoT projects. If you have any thoughts or requirements for an Eclipse IoT Market, please participate in this bug. https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=506792

Thanks

Ian
