Hi Hanu,

If you are interested in standard-based data model and ontologies (i.e., semantic interoperability), you might be interested in our project, Whiskers.  We are very new (just approved) and we will develop the code from scratch.  Whiskers will be the implementation of the Open Geospatial Consortium SensorThings API, which is based on the ISO 19156, Observations and Measurement standard (O&M).  O&M is an ontologies regarding Observations.

Here is the page for the specification: http://ogc-iot.github.io/ogc-iot-api/  The specification was approved in February 2016.
