Indeed, it bugs me as well, thanks for finding it - fixed now!

I wonder whether there could be a place for another level of committer - one with fewer capabilities and responsibilities than the present one? 

I think what is already possible is to have committers restricted to certain parts/components of the code - this can definitely help on complex projects. Nonetheless, the time involved to do such a job properly, is nothing that many people are willing to invest.

- the substantial hurdle of becoming a committer on Eclipse projects is somewhat of a barrier to increased community participation I think.  I find this in Paho too.  I wonder whether there could be a place for another level of committer - one with fewer capabilities and responsibilities than the present one?  That would obviously be a big change for the Eclipse Foundation.
