Hi Mahdi,
Yes, I am certainly aware of semantic versioning! I just felt that this isn’t necessarily applied to <1.0 versions as in incubation things anyhow are considered to be unstable.
So fine for me, +1 then!
Cheers, Kai
Eclipse OM2M 1.0 is a major release that is not backward
compatible with the previous one. We changed completely form
SmartM2M standard to the new oneM2M standard. I followed the
following convention mentioned in the "create release page":
"The release name must start with a number, and may contain
major and minor version numbers, a service number, and extra
information; e.g. "9", "5.6 (Kepler)", or "1.0.1"." I am familiar with the following convention: "Given
a version number MAJOR.MINOR.PATCH, increment the:
- MAJOR version when you make incompatible API changes,
- MINOR version when you add functionality in a
backwards-compatible manner, and
- PATCH version when you make backwards-compatible bug fixes.
Additional
labels for pre-release and build metadata are available as
extensions to the MAJOR.MINOR.PATCH format." More details here: http://semver.org/

Mahdi

Ok, thanks for the info. Could you briefly
elaborate why you then didn’t go from 0.8.0 to 0.9.0
instead?
As mentioned, a 1.0 release usually indicates a
graduation.

Kai
Hello Kai,
Thanks. I see great potential for such
integration. We can work on it. It should be pretty
straightforward ;-)
I confirm that the project still in
incubation phase.

for OM2M 1.0.0 Release
Hi Mahdi,
looks good to me and I can’t wait to see it being
integrated with Eclipse SmartHome :-)
Just one questions: the version 1.0.0 seems to indicate
that this is a graduation release. Is this the case or is
the project still in incubation phase?
Best regards,
Kai
