But in general, I support the idea to allow using it. As you say, getting hold of the data as a backup is fairly easy since it is nothing else but another git repo.

In fact it's just a git repository with the articles stored as simple .md (markdown) files.

For example I created a page on the Leshan wiki:
https://github.com/eclipse/leshan/wiki

You can get the markdown files by cloning:
git clone https://github.com/eclipse/leshan.wiki.git

So I suppose nothing stop eclipse project to use the github wiki since it's just a git repository which we can backup easily?
