Hi all,

 

The Eclipse IDE landing page highlights some of the features of the release. Please see the landing page for the past release - https://eclipseide.org - for example.
Similar to the previous releases, I would like to gather inputs from the community on features that can be highlighted on the page for 2024-12 release. The content that I have curated so far are :

 

  • Improved Java Development Tooling : HTML rendering for Markdown comments on hover and in Javadoc view, Option to configure the problem severity for unused lambda parameters, and a Clean-up option to simplify opposite Boolean returns in an if statement into a single return.
  • Improved Plug-in Development Tooling : Support added in PDE Target Editor to specify version ranges or omit the version attribute in InstallableUnit locations.
  • Improved Platform : Monitor-specific, resolution-aware UI scaling enabled on Windows for dynamic scaling, Improved regular _expression_ validation with error hints, and Preference to customise multi-page editor tab alignment with top or bottom placement options.
