Subject: [ide-dev] Highlights for 2024-09 Eclipse IDE landing page
Hi all,
The Eclipse IDE landing page highlights some of the features of the release. Please see the landing page for the past release - https://eclipseide.org -
for example.
Similar to the previous releases, I would like to gather inputs from the community on features that can be highlighted on the page for 2024-09 release. The content that I have
curated so far are :
- Improved Java Development Tooling : Simplified conversion of if-else chains with string literals or enums to switch statements, with support for multi-condition checks.
- Improved Plug-in Development Tooling : New Modify button in Execution Environment section and Support for defining URL schemes in the PDE product editor
- Improved Platform : Updated Eclipse light theme with a flat, minimalist design and darker view backgrounds available as a preview.
Please provide your inputs/suggestions.
Thanks and Regards
Elsa Zacharia
