Hi all,
Sorry for being late to the game.
Platform does provide a possibility to show onboarding information per perspective in the empty editor area. The main use-case is to tell the user the most important
Shortcuts (Commands and their key bindings).
JDT, PDE, Debug and Plaform perspectives already have been adapted.
For details see:
https://github.com/eclipse-platform/eclipse.platform.ui/issues/633 and
https://github.com/eclipse-platform/eclipse.platform.ui/pull/657 for an example
Regards,
Matthias

Subject: [ide-dev] Highlights for 2023-06 Eclipse IDE landing page
Hi all,
The Eclipse IDE landing page highlights some of the features of the release. Please see the landing page for the previous release:
https://eclipseide.org
Similar to the previous releases, we would like to gather inputs from the community on features that can be highlighted on the page for the 2023-06 release.
The content we have so far:
- Support for latest Java - Supports Java 20 and provides the necessary tooling for development.
- Improved platform - Security features such as enforced use of https protocol, PGP Key Revocation Handling, Tracking trusted hosts and Untrusted Artifact Handling.
- Improved PDE - Enhanced security, automatic manifest generation and manifest cleanup action.
Please provide your inputs/suggestions by May 24th (Wednesday)
Thanks & Regards,
ALSHAMA M S
