Re: [ice-dev] [Bug 488033] HIPP for Eclipse ICE

I checked out Matt's response and I guess the big trick is to figure out where $HOME is for the HIPP. I'll run env from a job and see what it says.

It also isn't clear to me is this will work with our JavaFX stuff. Should be fun to find out!

Not that I’m aware of. I have shell access on the build server for historical reasons, but I’m not sure they give it out any more. You can try if you’d like, or I can do the shell stuff.

I logged in and started creating the build job. As soon as I learn more about what to do with the tests I'll finish it. After that I'll look at the permissions issue.

Can I get shell access on a HIPP instance?

It sounds like you’ll need to create the HIPP jobs. You’ll need to set permissions on the job so that I can modify the configuration.

The ICE HIPP instance is now setup at https://hudson.eclipse.org/ice/

Committers should now be able to login and create jobs. Please note that unlike
the shared instance you will need to login with your _email_ address as your
username.

If you require additional plugins feel free to reopen this bug and list them.

Finally we can optionally allow the HIPP user to have write access anywhere the
project group has access to including downloads area. We can also give it write
permissions to your git repositories. This could be useful if you'd like to use
Hudson for automated build promotion but keep in mind there is some risk in
giving Hudson more permissions than it needs. If you'd like to to enable this
please reopen and let us know.
