It looks like zoom works fine, albeit a little sluggish compared to mouse dragging.

All of the connections we tried appeared to work. Here's what we tried:

windows -> local (2.8.2)
windows -> remote (2.9)
linux -> local (2.9)
linux -> remote (2.9)
mac -> local (2.8.2)

Zooming appears considerably slower on linux and mac.
