What about for multiple selections? The same plot type won't make
sense for all variables.

Taylor,
That could work, but I think it would end up with lots of
duplication. You might want to just give them a drop down menu
to select the plot type.

All,
I am working on adding support for more plot types in the
VisIt tools. Right now, the plugin only renders pseudocolor
plots. I'm trying to decide the best place to put the plot
type selection. I was thinking about adding this to the
dialog used to add plots to the VisIt Plot Viewer. The
current dialog is a two-level tree that sorts plots based on
variable type (Meshes, Scalars, Vectors, and Materials). I
am considering adding a third layer to this tree for the
plot types. For example, in the attached screenshot, the
values under Scalars would be able to be expanded. Under
each of the scalar values, the user could select Contour,
Pseudocolor, or Volume. Does this seem like the appropriate
place for this? Does anyone have any other ideas?
Thanks,
Taylor
