[gmf-dev] Re: Release Review Materials for GMF Tooling
|
Hi Anthony. You really do need to have some confidence in the contents
of the log. The idea of the automated log is to assist you in creating
the log, not take the place of all reasoning about it. If you are *very*
confident in the log, then it's probably okay to push the button...
However, a quick look reveals that it shows the project has no
committers. That can't possibly be right. Dash shows no information
about the project. I have to assume that the project's SCM repositories
were only recently specified and Dash hasn't had a chance yet to harvest
the corresponding information.
We have two choices... Dash should run over the weekend and populate
itself with data for the project; you can rerun the log and get
automatic data. Second, you can use the portal to explicitly mark each
of the committers as active and rerun the log (I believe that will work).
The list of contributions also seems a little short.
HTH,
Wayne

Hi Wayne,
The greater modeling community wants the GMF Tooling project released.
Two modeling projects have released major versions, so we need GMF
Tooling released if we want GMF Tooling generation for the Helios
modeling platform.
I am concerned that if *I* press submit on the GMF Tooling IP Log,
there may be some future ramifications. Realistically, as I am not a
GMF Tooling commiter for the GMF Tooling code, I cannot guarantee 100%
all of the items in the IP section of the release review materials.
I am mostly confident, but not 100% confident.
What do you suggest here, can I just press submit?
Cheers...

Anthony,
I tried, but I believe I have to be a GMF-Tooling committer to do it. :-(
The log's page has an "/(Error: no committers)" /entry, so that
doesn't bode well.

Ed

Hi Ed,
I am forwarding this onto the gmf-dev mailing list to get
more exposure and so everyone knows what is happening.
We did not hear back from Artem or any of the GMF Tooling
committers.
So Mariot offered and created the GMF Tooling docuware at
_http://wiki.eclipse.org/GMP/GMF-Tooling/HeliosReview_
Someone needs to submit the IP Log
_http://www.eclipse.org/projects/ip_log.php?projectid=modeling.gmp.gmf-tooling_
*today.*
Can do this for us Ed?
Ed, when you get questions back from the EMO about the GMF
Tooling, you will have to send on to the gmf-dev list and
one of us can attempt to answer.
Cheers...
