Rich,
Apologies.. Please could you give me the mailing address of GMF newsgroup? Thanks a ton!
Hitesh.

Hi Hitesh,
Just to point out for the future... this is mailing list is for GMF developer discussions. Your question is more well-suited to a newsgroup, though not the GMF newsgroup. I suspect the eclipse.modeling.mdt.uml2 newsgroup was the most appropriate for this question. Fortunately, James is monitoring this mailing list ;)
Thanks,
Rich
Hi Hitesh,
Yes there is a way to convert from Ecore to UML. The opensource UML2 project supports this. Ensure you have the "examples" plugins from the UML project.
1. Open your .ecore model.
2. Select the root element of your ecore model then go to the "Sample Ecore Editor\Convert to UML Model ..."
You can convert from ecore to uml and back.
The code that does the conversion is in UMLUtil.Ecore2UMLConverter.
Regards,
- James.
