RE: [gmf-dev] Proposal for an early GMF 1.0.2 release

Hi,

Does silence mean "no change", i.e. fixes from maintenance stream get into HEAD at the end of 1.0.x?

Best wishes,
Artem Tikhomirov

Anthony,

Could you please describe commit policy runtime team going to adhere during 1.0.2 and 1.0.3 development - i.e. is it the same as with 1.0.1 (no fixes in 2.0 stream, all fixes from maintenance stream get into HEAD at the end of a cycle), or we might expect to see fixes propagated to 2.0 right away.

Thank you!

Best wishes,
Artem Tikhomirov

This seems reasonable to me, and has limited impact to releng. The 29th is a Sunday, so perhaps the 27th is better? We'll just need to update our plan documents to reflect this additional release.

	Thanks,
	Rich

	Hi Team,

The WTP project has requested a maintenance release for October 29. The request has been approved by the WTP PMC and here is the link to the thread. http://dev.eclipse.org/mhonarc/lists/wtp-pmc/msg00896.html <http://dev.eclipse.org/mhonarc/lists/wtp-pmc/msg00896.html>

I have been requested by the IBM team to do the same for GMF. UML2 and TPTP are also looking at doing this.

Here's what I propose for your agreement (or dissent).

We will plan a 1.0.2 maintenance release for October 29.
We will still plan a 1.0.3 maintenance release approximately January/February following the rest of Callisto release train.

We currently have 10 Bugzillas targeted against the 1.0.2 maintenance release.

It is unfortunate these issues were found late, but I think we can accommodate this "extra release" with minimal disruption,
if we keep the fixes to the bare minimum absolutely required, and it will drastically improve our perceived quality in some areas.

	Sound agreeable?

	Cheers...
	Anthony
