Hi Richard,
The
EMFT migration is going well. We are trying to get a build going on EMFT. This
will not be ready for Nov. 18th. We have moved the library examples into EMF
opensource 3.2 stream. The validation, ocl and query plugins are in EMFT now. I
am working with Nick from the EMF team get a build going. We will
building with ANTLR in EMFT and would still require clients to patch the target
with the ANTLR jar. In M4 we are planning to remove the dependency on ANTLR
entirely due to some legal issues with ANTLR.
In
the mean time GMF may have to continue to build using the source from EMFT.
Please
let me know if you have any concerns or questions

Hi Fred,
As it seems WTP is not yet building for platform 3.2
milestones, and as I’ve yet to experience any conflict/breakage even when
using WST 0.7 and GMF together with our bundled properties plug-in, I’m
not sure it matters too much. As stated in WTP’s release review
slides, they don’t plan to join the Callisto train until after their 1.0
release (December 16th), which leads me to believe we’re safe
to bundle for our M3.
Another option is to depend on a “special”
version # of this plug-in for GMF and not use their 1.0.0 version number.
This way, the two can coexist without the likelihood of conflict.
Other ideas or opinions?
On a related note, how is the migration and build of EMFT
Validation and OCL coming along, particularly the bundling of Antlr?
Thanks,
Rich

Hi Rich,
For our M3 build, shouldn't we remove the WTP properties plug-in from our GMF
runtime feature to avoid breaking clients that need both WTP and GMF? Seems
like providing a link to this plug-in along the other target features available
from the Requirement section of the download page would do the job.
We are still working with the Eclipse UI folks to get this odd dependency
resolved. We should hopefully be able to provide an update next week.
Thanks
- Fred

[gmf-dev] Integration build I20051111-1800

Hi All,
As GEF posted their M3 build yesterday, I performed an integration
build using what will be the configuration we’ll use for
our M3 build. I’ll configure our continuous builds to use this new
stable configuration, so we should all update our workspace target to the same
(if you’ve not done so already):
Eclipse 3.2M3: (build page)
EMF 2.2M3: (build page)
GEF 3.2M3: (build page)
UML2 2.0M1: (build page)
We still have some cleanup to do before we produce our M3 build, particularly
those items related to our “Clean” theme for this milestone.
I also need to do some cleanup of the output (e.g. add about.ini files)
and update the tutorial. I will be back in the office all next week and
plan to run frequent integration builds as we approach our November 18th
goal for 1.0M3.
Thanks to everyone for your hard work as we approach our first
“real” milestone! If you haven’t checked lately, our
“liveness”
measure is on the rise ;-)
Best,
Rich
