Re: [glassfish-dev] Is glassfish-infra repo at GitHub still required?

Hi,

I don't think moving these files makes sense now, because they "live" with the GlassFish Jenkinsfile. and these containers are just used by Jenkins.

Another related thing is that currently I am preparing another "generation" of the JDK17 container, but I have to wait a bit with the push, because I have found a bug in JDK - it is now fixed, but it will take some time for the release. Basically there is no other use for this container, it also has to use older Ant, because newer is not compatible with the TCK (the best would be to get rid all Ant build files, but that has to wait now).

If we would plan to create a docker container with GlassFish inside (ie. for clusters), it should again live and be tested together with GlassFish versions (and we should have a commercial repository for that).
Currently I even don't know if clusters still (don't) work. At least they were not usable on production since GlassFish3, I have fixed some issues for Payara in 2015?, I think they are still not fixed in GF (I have to recreate the test I had those days at some moment).

So at this moment, I would rather concentrate to fix all GlassFish issues in "basic" GlassFish and avoid scattering it to many places.

David.

Hi,

There doesn't seem to be any particular equivalent for https://github.com/javaee .

I think it might be a good idea to move files used to build docker images:
https://github.com/eclipse-ee4j/glassfish/tree/master/etc/docker
https://github.com/eclipse-ee4j/glassfish/tree/master/etc/docker-jdk17

Is https://github.com/eclipse-ee4j/glassfish-infra still required?
It's an empty repo that has never been initialized. Creation was
requested in 2019 (https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=545503).
I'm for removing this one.
