| [glassfish-dev] Using GlassFish weekly builds for Spec. ballots |
Hi,
Several components need to use Eclipse GlassFish as their compatible implementation for ballot approval. The Spec. committee would like these releases to be preserved and tagged. Probably that implies that these should not be called Snapshot releases but perhaps you can decide what name makes the most sense. RC, or something.
For example Servlet recently completed its ballot with Eclipse Glassfish 6.0.0-SNAPSHOT-2020-09-06
The desire is that someone could come back at a future date and
recreate the certification.
So, can the GlassFish team update the weekly builds to include creating tags for each of the weekly builds and and make it less likely that these release versions will be inadvertently removed (apparently Snapshot is considered volatile).
The Spec. committee is working to clarify the requirements about the Compatible Implementation so hopefully this will become much clear in the future.
If there is general agreement to this request, please let me know so we can report back to the committee.
