Re: [gef-dev] Move GEF builds to harder, better, faster, stronger* server?

Hi Nick

I have smoke tested the GEF build GEF-ALL-N200905121721.zip with the platform M7 on three places:

Ubuntu Linux with Sun JRE 1.4.2 SR10
Windows XP with Sun JRE 1.4.2 SR18
Windows XP with IBM JRE 1.4.2 Service Refresh 13

The only issue that I could find was that the javadoc in the GEF doc.isv was not working. The JavaDoc is working in GEF M7 so this is one remaining modeling.eclipse.org build issue.

Cheers...
Anthony

[gef-dev] Move GEF builds to harder, better, faster, stronger* server?

Managed to finally squash the bug preventing UI tests from running on
our modeling.eclipse.org SLES 11 64-bit box:

https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=253114#c22
http://modeling.eclipse.org/gef/downloads/?project=gef&sortBy=date&hlbuild=0#latest

But before we can migrate over to the faster box, I need someone to:

a) smoke the build - specifically, is the doc valid? does this run on a
1.4 or 5.0 vm?

b) approve this change, as it's post-M7 and arguably a bad time to
inject a change like this (or an excellent time because the code's
stable/frozen)

Anthony, your thoughts?

If nothing else, this opens the door for other Modeling projects to
move, even if GEF does not need to / want to do so.

However, emft.eclipse.org is dangerously out of space all the time and
the barnraising vm host on which emft.eclipse lives is scheduled for
demolition at some point. It will be resurrected with SLES, not RHEL
(despite my protests!), so ultimately we'll be building on 64-bit linux
eventually anyway, unless we transition to Athena and build on ppc w/
IBM JDK 5.0 or 6.0 instead.
