Re: [flux-dev] Flux architecture for non-IDE purposes?
|
Hey Kristian,
glad to hear you liked the interview session at SE-Radion about Flux… :-)
I think at the moment we are very much focused on applying the ideas to the IDE space and do not think beyond that space. Since the architecture and ideas behind Flux are very much at the beginning and there are more questions than answers around these days, the focus on building cloud-based developer tooling will help us to find the right answers.
Nevertheless, if you are interested in applying the ideas (and maybe some code) to general application development, please feel free to explore that and provide feedback. I would be very happy to hear about your experiences. And if this expands into a broader effort over time, I am sure we will be happy to support that and/or welcome additional contributors to work on that.
Does that make sense?
What do you think?
Cheers,
-Martin

First question I immediately stumbled across: Any plans to extend the Flux idea to application domains other than IDE / development? Will Flux remain an IDE project, or will it eventually turn into an extension of the Eclipse platform for "generic" application development?
