In the past week, we've been observing higher than usual activity/saturation with rsyncs on the downloards.eclipse.org server and have been making moves to resolve some issues around unused project artifacts. We've started to migrate older artifacts to the archive.eclipse.org server, as well as removing some directories that should not have been on downloads.e.o creating large rsync traffic and slowing down propagation (see https://github.com/eclipse/eclipse.jdt.ls/issues/1946#issuecomment-974081951 and previous mailing list topics around migration for more information).
We have added some extra bandwidth to this server to attempt to resolve this issue faster, but this will take time to settle and resolve. We appreciate your patience as the wheels in the server churn.
Looking into the failures now, we'll get back to you when we have more information. Results are a little inconsistent at the moment, and I'm working with our backend IT team to try and root down an issue.
Anyone else seeing odd behavior on the individual
platform and package page, where it seemingly only reloads the
page when you click on the big Download button or filename link,
leaving only the "Direct link to file (download starts
immediately from best mirror)" as functional? Is that from a
lack of mirrors this early?
Our next milestone build is available for
testing: EPP
2021-12 M3
There are a range of issues / things
to note:
- The php and scout
packages have not had a report back that
they work in more than a couple of
release cycles. Is someone still testing
scout or php package?
- 2021-12 M3 contains macOS AArch64 packages
and they should now appear linked on the
Downloads page
- The macOS AArch64 now contains the
native components from CDT's
contribution. Can someone test
if the Terminal view is working
properly for local shells?
- While Upgrades fail under
some circumstances (see Bug
576506) this time it ran fine for
me by having Eclipse on the same drive
as tmp.
- Mac notarization failed for
exactly one package (parallel on
aarch64). See Bug
