@Torkild: Have you discussed this with the Mylyn PMC? We've have several attempts of interaction on various Mylyn channels, and except for wikitext, nothing concrete has happened and no-one manages to say clearly "we'll release a new version with that fix". FWIW, I personally don't really think we need Mylyn opinion here, it's more a real question to EPP contributors about whether Mylyn in EPP packages is worth it or not and for which packages.
