Hello all,
I’ve moved the location of the copyright statement from
the bottom of each published page to a single page that shows up under the
Getting Started node of the treeview. There is now a link to the copyright
information at the bottom of each page.
The Eclipse guidelines says that only major contributors
need to worry about adding copyright information. The last statement of the
copyright says “And others…”, which covers contributors who
provide minor changes and fixes. This guideline is designed to make managing
copyrighted source code easier to manage. Other than the overhead, there’s
nothing preventing you from adding a copyright if you see fit.
To add your copyright to the copyright page, edit the page
in openup_basic/Method Content/general/Guidance/openup_copyright. Add a line
that reads something like: Copyright (c)
2004, 2006 MyNiftyCompany Inc. All Rights Reserved.
Use the (c) characters instead of the © symbol, per the EPF
Text Style Guide. The dates indicate the first year the content was created,
and the last year it was updated. Use a single year if this is he first year
the contribution is being copyrighted.
If you don’t have committer rights, attach the
copyright info to a new Bugzilla entry and a committer will update it for you.
Individual copyrights can also be added to specific pages
via the Copyright attribute of a method element. We currently don’t have
guidance on when this is appropriate so please avoid doing this. If you feel
some of your content warrants a copyright notice on a specific page, raise the
issue in EPF dev so we can identify potential guidance for these circumstances.
Thanks,
Jim
