Re: [emfcp-dev] Installing ECP in Eclipse Indigo

Thanks Eugen,

Apologies, will post to forum.

Reason for 3.7 support is that we support it for our product and since I wanted to reuse some features frim ECP I was inquiring about the support.

Thanks for clarifying,
Alex

Hi Alex,
By default we support the prevoius two releases, i.e. Juno and Kepler. On Juno the e4 demo doesn't work. Thus I would recommend to use Kepler.

Is there a reason why you want to use Indigo? I think that EMF Forms as well as the 3x application don't use Juno or Kepler specific features so only the minimum versions of the dependencies must be adopted. However, we would need to test Indigo then continously, that is why we do not do that by default. If you need to stay with Indigo, please let me know, we offer long-term support as a service.

If you have further questions, please use the newsgroup instead of the mailing-list, this way other ecp users will be able to help you. Furthermore one can search the newsgroup for already asked and hopefully answered questions.

You can find the newsgroup here:  http://www.eclipse.org/forums/?group=eclipse.technology.emft  (news://news.eclipse.org/eclipse.technology.emft)

Cheers,

Eugen

Hello,

What is minimum version of Eclipse ECP release 1.2 will install on? I am trying to use Indigo and running into all sort of problems related to dependencies. For example:

Cannot complete the install because one or more required items could not be found.
Software being installed: EMF Forms Core Model 1.2.0.20140227-1018 (org.eclipse.emf.ecp.viewmodel.feature.feature.group 1.2.0.20140227-1018)
Missing requirement: XMI View Model Provider 1.2.0.20140227-1018 (org.eclipse.emf.ecp.view.model.provider.xmi 1.2.0.20140227-1018) requires 'bundle org.eclipse.core.runtime 3.8.0' but it could not be found
  Cannot satisfy dependency:
From: EMF Forms Core Model 1.2.0.20140227-1018 (org.eclipse.emf.ecp.viewmodel.feature.feature.group 1.2.0.20140227-1018)
    To: org.eclipse.emf.ecp.view.model.provider.xmi [1.2.0.20140227-1018]

Thanks,
Alex
